Lady Gaga joins these A-listers in new White House role appointed by President Joe Biden fans re

The upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux actress is joining the likes of George Clooney, Jennifer Garner, and Kerry Washington

Lady Gaga has a new role to add to her resumé, and it's neither singer, actress, nor dancer!

The multi-hyphenate superstar has earned herself a special role in the White House, appointed by President Joe Biden himself.

Along with film producer Bruce Cohen, the star has been named co-chair of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.

Announcing the news via Twitter, the official President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities account wrote: "Welcome newly appointed members of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, led by @BruceCohen83 and @ladygaga!"

The announcement further read: "We look forward to partnering to positively impact the arts, libraries, museums, and humanities work across the country." Retweeting the announcement on her own Twitter account, Gaga wrote: "Thank you @POTUS @PCAHgov."

The news was met with praise from fans of the "Poker Face" singer, and fans replied to the tweet with: "I'm so excited! Thank you Lady Gaga," and: "No better choice than @ladygaga. A true visionary when it comes to the Arts. Whether it's music, film, make up, fashion, activism, she puts her heart and soul into it. There's no one like her," as well as: "It's what she deserves."

The  PCAH has quite the star-studded committee, and other members include George Clooney – who along with his wife Amal Clooney is involved in the Arts as well as various human rights and philanthropic efforts – Jennifer Garner, Jon Batiste, actor Troy Kotsur, Shonda Rhimes, and Kerry Washington.

Founded in 1982, the committee has traditionally seen the First Lady, in this case Dr. Jill Biden, serve as Honorary Chair of the Committee.

A statement from the White House explained: "Private committee members include prominent artists, scholars, and philanthropists who have demonstrated a serious commitment to the arts and humanities." 

It added: "PCAH advises the President and the heads of U.S. cultural agencies on policy, philanthropic and private sector engagement, and other efforts to enhance federal support for the arts, humanities, and museum and library services. The PCAH will also engage the nation’s artists, humanities scholars, and cultural heritage practitioners to promote excellence in the arts, humanities, and museum and library services and demonstrate their relevance to the country’s health, economy, equity, and civic life."
