Princess Catherine pulled off one of her most bold looks to date to host an event close to her heart this morning.

The ensemble consisted of a vibrant purple suit by Emilia Wickstead, composed of a sleek double-breasted blazer and fitted trousers. Kate styled the colorful set with navy blue suede pumps, diamond-and-sapphire drop earrings, and her diamond-and-sapphire engagement ring from Prince William. The royal’s hair was in a wavy blowout, and she wore rosy makeup and black liner.

The Princess of Wales was hosting the Shaping Us National Symposium at London’s Design Museum, organized through her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The event brought together leaders and specialists in the field of early childhood.

Kate’s Shaping Us campaign, which stresses the importance of improving the mental and physical health of children in the first five years of their lives, launched in January.

“It is time we understood that building a healthier world means nurturing the foundations that support our children—everything from the systems that govern early care through to our attitudes to those raising the next generation, and the support they receive,” the princess said in her speech today.

Kate has made early childhood development a central cause in her humanitarian work as a royal, and through her foundation regularly supports organizations and experts helping shape young lives.

“Because if we can create a society which sees the child within every adult—and the adult within every child—we will finally start to change it for the better,” she added.
